Jonah had broken some major rules. He was a prophet of God and had decided to run away from the Lord’s commands on his life. He was out in the middle of the ocean when a huge storm rose up and he had to be thrown overboard to save the lives of the other sailors from the storm. He got eaten by a huge fish and had to sit in the fish’s belly for three days thinking about what he had done wrong.
I imagine he had some pretty good prayer time with God then. He probably realized that he had made some major mistakes. As a man of God, he could have followed God’s command. But instead he chose sin and ran away. God is great though, and he had the fish spit Jonah up on a beach. Jonah went ahead and followed through with God’s plan after that.
Even men of God make awful decisions and sin. Jonah was a great example. But God forgives us our sins, just like He did Jonah!

How did Jonah sin? How can you keep yourself from sinning like Jonah?
