Chloe and Charlotte sat next to each other on the school bus talking about what they did over spring break.
“What is that on your neck?” Charlotte asked Chloe pointing at a red ticket hanging from a silver chain.
“Oh, that’s my ticket to heaven,” Chloe smiled.
“What do you mean, your ticket to heaven?”
“We had a spring break party at church on Wednesday night during spring break. We had a special storyteller come and she told us a story about how God loves us so much that He wanted us to come be with Him in heaven one day, but we had to have a special ticket to get there.”
“How do you get a ticket?”
“She told us God sent His Son Jesus to Earth wrapped up in a baby’s body to grow up and survive mean things so that we could get a ticket to heaven. She said the ticket is like a ticket to the movies. We can’t get into the movies without a ticket and we can’t get into heaven without Jesus. She asked who wanted the ticket to heaven. I raised my hand and we said a special prayer.”
“Oh. Are you the only one who can get a ticket? I want one.” Charlotte asked.
Chloe smiled and said, “I knew you would. Ms. Clara said anyone who believes Jesus is God’s Son and that God raised Him from the dead can have a ticket. After we prayed she gave us this red ticket to remind us of God’s love. She gave us an extra one to share. I have one for you.”
Chloe and Charlotte prayed the prayer together on the bus and Chloe put the necklace on Charlotte just as they arrived at school.
Romans 10:9 says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Who can you tell what you believe about Jesus?
