As Jesus walked along one day,
There were ten sickly men,
Afflicted now with leprosy,
Kept from family and friends.
“Have pity on us, Master!”
They called out to the Lord.
Jesus told them to go to the priests
To check their skin for sores.
As they obeyed and went their way,
Their bodies became clear!
One man, realizing he’d been healed,
Came back to praise God there.
This one was a Samaritan;
At Jesus’ feet, he fell.
He thanked Him for the healing;
He was happy to be well!
Jesus asked, “Weren’t ten men cleansed?
Where are the other nine?
This foreigner is the only one
To thank God for his life?”
“Rise and go,” Jesus said.
“Your faith has made you well.”
And when God blesses us each day,
In thanks, let us excel!
When you ask Jesus to come in
And cleanse you from your sin,
You can always trust Him –
He died for you and rose again!
Did you know?
“When anyone has a swelling or a rash or a shiny spot on their skin that may be a defiling skin disease, they must be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons who is a priest.” (Leviticus 13:2-3 / NIV)
A leper was called “a walking dead man” because he had a severely decaying body while still alive. Leprosy is sometimes compared to sin because without Jesus, we are “spiritually dead” in our sin. Jesus is the only One who can save us, heal us, and give us eternal life with Him.
