Joshua’s friend Kyle was spending the week with him while Kyle’s mom was working and Kyle’s dad was out of town.
“Mom, Kyle is so busy. He talks all the time! We are so different.”
His mother replied with laughter, “Yes, Kyle is a really busy boy. Did you notice how fast he ate his lunch!?”
Joshua laughed and nodded his head, “Yes. He was like two bites and done! He said his family calls him a vacuum!”
His mother hugged him and shared, “My sister and I were like you and Kyle. I was like Kyle; busy, speedy and I would talk to anyone or anything! But Aunt Barb was, and is like you. Quiet, thoughtful, meticulous. Our Mom always told us that God had a plan for us, and our lives, and that God made us the way we needed to be. God did the same for you and Kyle. One day you will be a plodding, patient grown up, and Kyle will probably be an outgoing, energetic adult but both of you will hopefully be doing just what God has planned for you.”
Joshua was relieved to know that it was ok for him to be so different from his friend, and blessed to know that God uses all His children. God can use you too! What special gifts did God give you?
